What is a MSK Assessment?

A musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment is an examination of the lower limbs, looking at their structure, alignment, strengths and weaknesses. At Warley Grange Health a MSK appointment is recommended for an assortment of ailments, such as:

The appointment will involve a thorough assessment of your feet and ankles, often using gait analysis and ultrasound imaging to gain more insight.  Detailed history taking of your general health will be taken as this is also key to a full diagnosis.  The appointment will take around 45 minutes and will include a step by step approached management plan to help alleviate the problem.

The varying types of management available includes:

  • Exercise and stretch programmes
  • Footwear advice and strapping techniques
  • Orthotic prescription
  • Ultrasound Guided Injection Therapy using either Hyaluronic Acid or Corticosteroid
  • Shockwave Therapy for various soft tissue problems
